ILAS is a visual communication academy in Naples. Advertising, graphic design, web design, photography, social media and 3D — taught by working professionals, in studios equipped with one Mac per student.
ILAS trains people who will work in advertising and visual communication. Not a university and not a short online course: a school where you spend the year in a studio, with professionals who do this job for a living and who mark your work the way a client would.
Each area has its own year-long course and its own teachers. You choose one and go deep, rather than touching everything and mastering nothing.
Concept, art direction and copywriting. How a campaign is thought before it is designed, and how to defend it in front of a client.
Brand identity, typography, editorial and packaging. The Adobe tools, used the way a studio uses them — as a means, not as the subject.
Interface design, user experience, prototyping and the front-end side of a project: from the wireframe to a page that actually works.
Studio and location, lighting, post-production and the building of a portfolio. Still life, portrait, fashion and reportage.
Strategy, content, paid campaigns and analytics — now with artificial intelligence as a working tool, not as a demo.
Modelling, lighting and rendering for product, architecture and animation.
Every course is built around projects. What you produce during the year goes into the ILAS portfolio — a public archive of more than twenty thousand student projects that companies actually browse when they are looking for someone.
ILAS is a training body accredited by Regione Campania (code 00153/10/04). The region-authorised courses end with a professional qualification that is recognised throughout the European Union — which matters if you plan to work outside Italy.
End with an EU-recognised professional qualification, issued under Regione Campania.
Shorter, specialised programmes for people already working, with an ILAS certificate.
Management system certified ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001. Member of AIAP.
The academy is in Via Alcide de Gasperi, in the centre of Naples, a few minutes from the port and the main station. It is a city where visual culture is everywhere and where living costs far less than in Milan, Paris or Barcelona — which, over a year of study, is not a detail.
Naples International Airport is twenty minutes away, and the city is connected to Rome by a one-hour train.
Where we are, and how to reach usCourses are taught in Italian. If your Italian is not yet fluent, write to us before you apply and we will tell you honestly whether you would keep up.
A secondary school diploma. No portfolio or entrance exam for most courses — what matters is that you intend to work in this field.
Everything can be done remotely: an interview by video call, the enrolment form online, the contract signed digitally.
Not sure which course fits you? Write what you have done so far and what you would like to do, and we will answer with a straight opinion — including, if that is the case, that ILAS is not the right place for you.
